”Abba Father, I thank you for this journey of grace.”-R.J.JOHN

It has been nearly a decade since I knew this calling was from the Lord. I knew I had to write for the Lord. Every note that I pen down is for the Lord. Today, I wanted to share with my readers on this journey called grace.
I am a medical doctor by profession. It has always been my passion to see patients getting well. But beyond just treating the patient, I have realized that health is beyond the physical; it goes back to a person’s emotional and spiritual well-being.
The World Health Organisation defines health as a complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. So basically, being in the medical field, I have come to realize that healthcare is not just meant to treat patients but also to ensure the social well-being of a person, as this also contributes to a person’s health.
I was a medical student when God called me to write for Him. At that moment, I wondered how to become a doctor and a writer. When I look back at my journey now, God works miraculously. But deep down in my heart, I know there is more to go.
The Lord opened a door of opportunity for me to specialize in Public Health Medicine.CEA Winslow, a renowned professor who launched public health at Yale University a century ago, defines public health as “The science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, public and private communities, and individuals.”
After joining the field, I realized that public health is the way forward to ensure everyone receives the art of preventing disease. What does the Bible say about health?
The greatest blessing the Lord has given to us when we are on earth is our physical bodies. The bodies are significant; the Lord wants us to care for them.
1st Corinthians chap 16 (NIV) ” Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”
1st Corinthians chap 10:31 (ESV) ”So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. ”
Proverbs chap 17:22 (ESV) ” A joyful heart is a good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Psalms 147:3 ”He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wound.”
Proverbs 18:21 (NIV) ”The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Even as I wrote this note, the Holy Spirit reminded me of God’s perfect plan in the Garden of Eve before humankind fell into sin. The Lord was satisfied with everything He created. God’s plan is for everyone to be in perfect health.
If you are struggling with a health challenge, practice blessing yourself more. Remember, you are the child of God. Do not function from a victim mindset. The devil wants us to be the victim. But the Lord reminds us we are victors in Christ. See the blessing despite the struggles that you may be facing today. The Lord is good in your life. His plan is to always give us a future and hope.
The Lord has even called me to write in the medical field. I spend hours in front of my research work, and I realize it is not for me but for the Lord. Much writing is involved in Public Health Medicine. It is challenging, but the Lord reminded me that His grace is sufficient.
I would always feel small whenever I am with the top giants in the medical field, but the Lord reminded me today that it is a journey of grace. Saying yes to the Lord requires obedience, persistence, and perseverance. I wanted to give up many times, but I must constantly remind myself this journey is for the Lord.
I am unsure if you are going through a particular phase in your life. Being obedient to your call opens doors of opportunities.
I encourage my readers to commit their work unto the Lord.
Whatever talents the Lord gives must be used back in the house of the Lord. It must be given back to the Lord. Once we have this conviction that it is for the Lord, the Lord will magnify what is given to us.
Don’t journey life alone. The Lord is with us. His grace is sufficient.
Say this today: I thank you, Lord, for this journey called grace.-R.J.JOHN
Prayer for today: I thank you, Lord, for my readers. I commit them unto you, Lord. I pray, Lord, for this journey, call grace upon each of their lives. I pray, Lord, you will never leave them nor forsake them.Abba, I submit my writings unto you, Lord. Amen.
