The true Essence of Good Friday

Today is the Good Friday celebration for Christians worldwide.

When it comes to Good Friday, we will constantly be reminded that Jesus died
on the cross, and he took away our sins.

Matthew chap 27: 50 (NIV) ”And when Jesus had cried out again in
a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

Here we see the moment Jesus decided to give up his spirit, his death took
place, and the body is no more alive. What does this signify?

This signifies that our human body is just beyond this physical body today.
The human body is made up of all the living and nonliving components that
create the entire structure of the human organism, including every living cell,
tissue, and organ. Our bodies consist of several biological systems that carry
out specific functions necessary for everyday living.

There are systems in the body that helps the body to function correctly. The
circulatory system is to move blood, nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and
hormones around the body. It consists of the heart, blood vessels, arteries,
and veins. The human body’s network of blood vessels, veins, and capillaries is
over 96,560 kilometers long, and this is long enough to go around the world
more than twice. ( Cleveland Clinic)

Besides the circulatory system, the digestive system, endocrine
system, immune system, lymphatic system, nervous system, muscular system, reproductive system, respiratory system, urinary system, and the skin or integumentary system. Each of these systems has its function and role in ensuring the body functions properly.

In the story of Jesus’s crucifixion, we see that Jesus has lost so much blood,
and this may have caused a disruption to the human system at that moment.
However,I realize that death only took place when Jesus decided to give up his
spirit. This tells us a lot of hidden truths behind this crucifixion. I have
come to realize that each of us here today we are just beyond this physical
human body. Each of us we have a body, soul, and spirit.

There is a real person within you. Unseen in physical realms. Your emotions
and thought system are within the soul. But if you want to speak to God or hear
from God or have an extraordinary encounter with the Lord, it is through the
human spirit. In other words, it is the Holy Spirit in us.

John chap 16: 7 (NIV); ”But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

This tells us something, Jesus’s crucifixion is not something that we
should be sad about. But instead, rejoice because this is the true beginning of
power over death.

When Jesus died on the cross, he gave us a gift. Each of us has this
gift today, which is the gift of salvation. This gift of salvation means He
saves. In the Book of Genesis, we read the story of Adam and Eve. Before Eve
ate the apple, both Adam and Eve didn’t know they were naked. How come? How
come there did not see they were naked. But scripture tells us that the moment Eve
ate the apple, both Adam and Eve felt shy and started finding a place to
hide. What does this tell us?. Their eyes were open to see things that
were not planned by God. Sin has crept into the world. It is human nature called sin.

So before Jesus came, the world was under this sin. Since then, many generations have come, but it was a life of bondage and sin. When Jesus came, the only way to
save the world is by shedding blood that is to take away our
sins.

When we accept Jesus as our personal savior and believe He died on the
cross and took away our sins, we no longer live a sinful human nature
life. Instead, we live the God kind of life. We carry a new breed. This divine
life of God. It is like taking off your old shirt and wearing your new set of
cloth.

The best gift that Jesus gave us during this Good Friday is the gift of
salvation. When we know this true meaning of salvation, we will never take church
attendance lightly, we would never take communion lightly, we will never live
our life the same. We will stop murmuring. We will stop grumbling. We would not be easily offended. We will start using the gift of God in us for His Glory. It is no more for people. It is no more for money and title. But is only for the Glory of God. We will not live a frustrated life. The blood of Jesus that was shed for you and me, when we decide to follow Jesus truly, it changes our lives. This decision you make today is essential. It doesn’t mean if your grandfather is a Christian, you are automatically a Christian. You need to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour today. It changes the generation after us.

This divine life of God is so powerful that we radiate His Glory. We can never live a defeated Christian life when we have absorbed and soaked this true meaning of Good Friday. If you are going through any challenge today, cheer up and remember the victory of the blood of Jesus Christ. The real Spirit man of you wants to talk and hear from God. Take some time off this Easter weekend with the Holy Spirit. Listen carefully to what He tells you to do as he embarks on your next chapter in life. Let us embrace this true gift of Salvation. Your life will never be the same anymore!
